Hi Spyros. Thanks so much for the welcome. Yes, I am from Joburg, in sunny South Africa, and I found a 1978 Bagheera S on a field in an area in Johannesburg (Joburg). A good friend of mine, Kevin, alerted me to the car. he told me that he has too many projects to take this one on, and that the car has to be saved from total decay. I fell in love with the car as soon as I saw it. He is an engineer, so I will be relying on him for the welding work, and to teach me about the mechanics of the car. I am a restorer, and I've restored things like a 60s pinball machine, Thorens Turntables, vintage bicycles, a BSA from 1948 as well as old coffee machines. But this is my very first car restoration, which I am very excited about. The car is rusty as expected, since it has been on an open field for a few years and there is no engine or gearbox. In fact, it didn't have wheels either. I had to borrow wheels to tow it home. There is a lot to do and a lot to learn, but I am motivated the more I learn about the car. I think the Bagheera is something very special, so I can't wait to be able to one day drive here. I am very keen to learn from everyone on this site, and share my experience.
