Eh... my clutch isn't working guys.
I last drove the Bagh last Friday and it was fine for most of the day but on one occasion the clutch felt weird and it wouldn't go into Gear. Grinding every time I tried. Tonight, 5 minutes ago, I tried to drive it out of my garden and the clutch pedal went to the floor a lot easier than before. But I knew straight away something was up so I tried to gently put it into 1st Gear but no go. It was just grinding. The pedal does come back up with my foot but the pedal goes down like a pedal with no cable.
Am I right in saying the Bagheera has a Hydraulic Clutch?

And will the car need a new part or an adjustment?

Hi Bob,
You're right! The Bagheera has a hydraulic clutch.
Probably the "slave"-cylinder on the gearbox is leaking.
Prise off the rubber boot of the cylinder and if there is some fluid leaking, please replace!
Also check the brake fluid reservoir in the front of the car, because it's the same for both the clutch and the brake system.
There's no problem finding spare parts for Bagheera clutch mechanisms.
Watch Ebay, there's an auction this moment on "slave" and "master" cylinders.
Good luck!

Oops, forgot something, if there is no leak anywhere in the system, try to pump the clutch pedal few times.
If pressure comes up, bleed the clutch cylinder. Maybe there's still some air in the lines.
Regards,

Bart

Or, much more to your description, you went through the springs of the clutch...
If so, you need to change the complete clutch.

There is a way to do it without totaly removing the engine but not easy

I was just on http://www.simon-auto.de
Do they really supply all the parts in their Catalogue?
They show parts that I never thought I'd find. Body Panels, lights.

Has anyone got parts from them before and are they expensive?

Well when I look through the Catalogue I was thinking,
"Wow I'll be able to make my Bagh original in no time".
Basically the body panels I saw would come in very handy.

And of course, the Clutch Parts :D

Body pannels, second hand, are never an issue. The steel however ..

Hi Bob,
Just a tip.
After I had rebuilt my clutch slave cylinder I found it impossible to purge the normal way. An old car mechanic gave me a tip that worked.
Take a bicycle pump the type with a hose on it. Replace the hose with a suitable one that fits snugly on the valve at the slave cylinder.
Fill the pump with brake fluid.
Open the valve and pump the fluid slowly into the slave cylinder.
If you have a helper who can watch for air bubbles at the reservoir its a lot easier.
This worked perfectly for me.
Regards,

Stig

Ok an Update.
I checked the Slave Cylinder, it looked fine and dry.
I then checked under the front Bonnet. The part beside the that has 2 pipes coming off, one to the Reservoir, and one to the Gearbox. It looked fine and dry.
I then checked the Reservoir. both sides of it were empty.
I followed the Pipe from the front to the Gearbox and it looked fine and dry.
So then I checked the Pedal area. The Carpet around the Pedals was really wet. So that's where my problem is.
What is the name of this part?
Is it a type of Servo?
Is it easy or hard to get?
Is it easy or hard to Fit? :D

Merci beaucoup :)

Hey guys, Just a little update on my Cylinder geeting fixed.
I bought this item off eBay months ago and I tried to fit it about 1 month ago. When I put in the fluid it came out of the front pipe area of the cylinder. Obviously I fitted it wrong so I took the pipe out again and by looking at it my father noticed that I forgot to put in the rubber washer and metal washer that came with the Cylinder. You can see them in the picture beside the Cylinder.

I also noticed when I looked into the old Cylinder that the pipe had a metal thing left in it. What is this metal thing? Do I need it? It seemed to be right in the middle of the pipe. I couldn't get it out though. This picture shows the way my father thinks it should go back in. Is this right? Or is there a different way?

check the following drawing by klicking here
you'll see that first goes the rubber ring, then the metal ring followed by the hose and lock nut.
make sure to clean the pedal area very good with a product such as brake cleaner, because the fluid is very agressif

good luck.

Thanks Vollegaaz,
I have the 2 washers and the locknut but I'm worried about that thing on the end of the pipe in this picture. I don't have this. It stayed in the old Cylinder and it won't come out. Does anyone know what this is and can I buy another one somewhere?

Hi Bob !
I suppose you're talking about this little kit.
I bought it to HB pièces auto few month ago.
It is still available and it is not really expensive.
