Hi Bagheera friends,
This is my first post on this forum so a quick introduction is in place.
I live in Sweden in the woods outside the town Arvika.
Currently I have 3 Bagheeras. 1 early 1974 with the wire gearshift and fixed back on the drivers seat. This car is roadworthy but would need a new paint to look really good. The engine seems ok but the gearbox suffers from the standard week synchro on second.
The second is a 1975 with originally mounted folding sun roof. This car has not been used for several years and needs a complete restoration. It is however fairly complete and in original condition.
The third car is also a 1975 but this one is really a basket case. I have not decided whether to restore it or only use it for spares. The engine in this one has been tuned with a reground cam shaft higher compression and polished intakes. It sounds very nice but I have not yet driven it.

Kul med svenskar i caféet, vi är inte många med Bagheeror i Sverige - det finns inte fler än 77 registrerade. Jag har en av dem, en X 1980. Det skulle vara kul att ses någon gång!

Har Du kollat med bilregistret ? 77 st låter väldigt mycket. Jag känner till några få som är körklara men de flesta är vrak av olika sorter.

My first Bagheera was sold new in Sweden it has had many owners over the years and was sort of restored when I bought it.
The Bagheera was never officially sold by the Simca dealers in Sweden. Only one Simca dealer sold them. A few cars were imported through other channels.
Starting with the model year 1976 Sweden enforced a very strange exhaust emission legislation only shared with Switzerland. This made it impossible to sell small volume cars in Sweden. Both the Bagheera and the Simca 1100 Ti where never adapted to the Swedish rules.
Many other cars were also banned from the Swedish market such as the Jaguar XJ12.
In 1989 Sweden adopted the European rules which made it a bit easier. Now it is easy to import any car that has been registered in a EU country.
As far as I know there where no specific "Sweden model" of the Bagheera.
The cars sold as 1975 model had to have a headlamp wash system installed But that is all that I know.

Enligt ett mail från Vägverkets trafikregister den 7 dec fanns det 77 Simca Matra Bagheera registrerade i Sverige. 68 av dem var då avställda.
Jag har regnr/chassinr och ägaruppgifter på 18 av dessa (bl a din OCH) och diverse uppgifter om ytterligare ett tiotal. Jag har idé om att försöka göra ett svenskt Bagheeraregister. Du får gärna maila mig regnr på dina 75-or!
