its 4x98mm like Alfa (only front wheel driven) and Fiat and Lancia.
for the ET/deport i have to look in my big bagheera book.
for the rear you need 630mm of diametre - which would be 205/65 R14.
i'm not sure if 215/55 R14 even exists ...

Hi Pepo,
Use the tire calculator:
http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html
Enter 155, 80, 13 for the front and 185, 80, 13 for the rear in the standard section. Now you can easily check for suitable sizes by experimenting with the new tires alternatives.
Regards,
Stig

Sorry Stig,
But if for the front a serie 80 can do, using it for the rear is an approximation. You'd better use 205/70/13 then

Well I have to check but I thought the standard profile was 82 but it is maybe more correct to select 85.
The standard 155 R 13, 185 R 13 does not state the height.
In my opinion if you want to have a tire that looks right then I would go for the original size that the car was designed for. Admittedly the road holding can be improved by using modern tires but do we really use the cars in that way.
Bagheera.be You spoke of Michelin having made a small run of the XAS last year. Can you recommend a seller ?

The new batch was made in modern type of rubber ( chosen by michelin for the best roadholding)
For a supplier, my last front ones came from Nederland ( I've to check but this will take some days) and the froggies says that for them the best price is in France ( let me find back their supplier)

In Sweden www.bribos.com sells XAS. 185x13 cost 1440 SEK (?157), 155x13 cost 1240 SEK (?135)
Bribos sells XAS FF as well.

Hi,
Lasse thanks for the info. I have not visited their site for quite some time. They used to have Dunlop SP in the right size But it really should be Michelin

they all will fit on a bag when the PCD 4x98mm and offset are fine.
in the front that should be anything like 7x14 offset 15 or 13 and in the back 8x14 offset 10 to 0 would be fine.
if the rims aint available in the right offset you would have to work with distance-discs - 8x14 offset 30 + 25mm disc => offset 5.
